Sophomore Jonas Moore Coloring a semi-colon design by Aubrey Oldenburg

On the afternoon of Friday, September 20th, RCEC hosted a Mental Health Awareness Day to show appreciation for our students. This event provided them with an opportunity to unwind and recharge their mental batteries. Students rotated through various stations featuring different activities and important information.

In the spa room, they relaxed to soothing sounds and aromas, while the art room offered a chance to color intricate designs created by our talented 10th grader, Aubrey Oldenburg. The more energetic rooms included the “Sharpen” and “Win” games room, where students engaged in various mind and physical games to get moving.

Additionally, students learned CPR basics to enhance their preparedness. A guest speaker, Ms. Kisa Taylor from River Ridge Behavioral Health, discussed mental health awareness and its importance for students and their friends.

“It was awesome sauce!” exclaimed 10th grader Marlee Solomon when asked about the day. To wrap up, students created TikToks about mental health, adding their own unique spins to the topic. Overall, the Mental Health Awareness Day was a resounding success, allowing each student to take a break and de-stress from everyday life.
