River City Early College High School
School-Parent Compact
Title 1 Program
Each school receiving funds under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) must develop a written school-parent compact for all children participating in Title I. The following school-parent compact outlines how parents, the school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement.
School Responsibilities:
Create a welcoming and positive learning environment for students and parents.
Involve parents in the planning, review, and improvement of the school's Title I program.
Hold parent-teacher conferences in the fall of each year to meet with parents to discuss eachchild's successes and areas for improvement.
Provide parents with frequent feedback on their child's progress. Parents may access Progress Book at any time and the school will provide quarterly interim reports and a grade card report each nine weeks.
Provide opportunities for parents to participate in decisions about the education of their child.
Provide multiple opportunities for parents to volunteer and/or participate in their child's classroom activities.
Ensure that all certified and classified Title I teachers and paraprofessionals are highly qualified.
Student Responsibilities:
Come to school each day ready to learn and do your best!
Complete homework every day and ask for help if I don't understand something.
Read every day (20-30 minutes) outside of school time.
Give my parents all daily information sent home from school (classroom newsletter, homework log, behavior log, notes from the teacher, etc.), read it and respond, if necessary.
