We are thrilled to welcome RCEC’s new principal, Dr. Kenitra Ezi. Dr Ezi is a seasoned educator with 21 years of experience with 16 years in administration. She knew her calling from a young age; her third grade teacher who was ahead of her time, fostering a progressive and innovative classroom environment inspired her future. This experience solidified her passion for education, and she's carried that inspiration throughout her career.
Her passion for education is summed up in her own words: “Doing what’s best for kids is my passion.” She’s known for her ability to help people become the best versions of themselves by challenging them to think outside the box and encouraging them to take risks. One of her favorite sayings, “I will always try to encourage people to see the glass half full, not half empty,” is a testament to her positive outlook and motivational spirit.
Her love for the people and the vibrant energy of the RCEC school community is evident. “The adults here have a heart for children, and that’s so important. I love being around them in that regard,” she says, and she often expresses just how much she loves the students.
When asked about her goals at RCEC, she emphasized the importance of support: “Based on our data, one goal that I have is to really make sure I’m supporting our teachers and students in making sure when our students leave our program, they truly are college-ready.” With a bachelor's degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, a master’s from William Carey University, and both a specialist and a doctorate from The University of Southern Mississippi, she is exceptionally well-prepared for this role.
As she embarks on this new journey, she looks forward to “seeing it all come together” and is excited about the school year ahead. We are incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated and decorated leader at the helm of our school, and we look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our community.
