Leaders with the Vicksburg Warren School District have consulted with Warren County Emergency Management Director, John Elfer. A weather advisory is in place that includes 70-80 mile per hour winds and possible downed trees. High wind gusts of that speed could impact safe travel making it difficult for high profile vehicles, which include school buses.
Due to the potential of high winds that would present an unsafe traveling experience for staff and students, all VWSD schools and offices will be closed Friday, January 12th.
There will be no after school tutoring and all school activities are suspended. We are monitoring weather for the return of students and staff Tuesday, January 16, 2024 and we will provide updates Monday, January 15, 2024 by 2pm. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Please stay weather aware.
