VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Vicksburg-Warren School District (VWSD) invites parents of minority male students to attend an interest meeting for a new mentorship program aimed at fostering academic success, personal growth, and leadership development. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 28, at 5:30 p.m. in the VWSD Meeting Room.

This mentorship program is designed to provide male minority students with guidance, support, and opportunities to connect with positive role models in the community. By pairing students with mentors who can offer advice and encouragement, the district hopes to promote stronger educational outcomes and life skills.

“Programs like this have a lasting impact on young men by instilling values of integrity, responsibility, and resilience,” said Dr. Toriano Holloway, superintendent of VWSD. “We’re committed to creating an environment where all students, regardless of their background, have the resources and support they need to succeed.”

Parents interested in enrolling their children in the mentorship program are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the initiative, meet program organizers, and ask questions. No prior registration is required to attend.

For more information about the mentorship program or the upcoming interest meeting, contact Dr. Terence James at 601-629-6889.
