VWSD Administration Team and Mississippi Department of Education Debrief after walk through

(Vicksburg, Miss.) - Sherman Avenue Elementary School and Warren Central Intermediate School received a visit from Mississippi Department of Education(MDE) representatives. The walk-through focused on both Sherman Avenue and Warren Central Intermediate being MDE Full Support Schools for students in grades k-3, specifically in English Language Arts. These events are conducted twice a year, in the Fall and Spring to ensure that our educational approach remains dynamic and aligned with the latest best practices, and to ensure our school's utilization of High Quality Instructional Material is evident.

“ What a great day of analyzing and looking for ways to improve instruction for our students. The support and facilitation MDE provided was greatly appreciated.  Our teachers and administrators were laser focused on how we can get better and improve student outcomes. ,” said Tori Holloway, PH. D., Superintendent(VWSD)

This collaborative effort is crucial in maintaining a well-rounded, successful learning experience for the students. At the conclusion of the meetings, participants engaged in a productive debriefing session to reflect on the observations made and discuss the next steps. These discussions are vital as they help educators identify areas of strength and areas that may require further improvement. The feedback and insights gathered during these events serve as a foundation for continuous growth and progress within the schools.
