• The Vicksburg Warren School District is proud to be a Leader in Me District. Leader in Me is an evidence-based PK-12 model, developed in partnership with educators and designed to build leadership in students, create a high-trust culture, and improve academic achievement. This evidence-based model equips students, educators, and families with the leadership and life skills needed to thrive in a dynamic world. 

  As a Leader in Me District, We Focus on developing the whole child by: 

  • Modeling the 7 Habits for our students,  

  • Teaching leadership to every student, 

  • Creating a culture that empowers students to take ownership of their learning, and  

  • Aligning systems to drive results in academics.

  We use two frameworks in our work as a leadership school: 

  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People helps us learn and apply leadership skills and gives us a common language for building a supportive school environment. 

  The 4 Disciplines of Execution helps us to identify, track, and achieve academic and personal Wildly Important Goals (WIGs).

Leader in Me Proud

The Vicksburg Warren School District is proud to have one of the first Leader in Me District Implementations in the country. All classes, grades Pre-K through 12th engage in learning and application of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People through the implementation of the Leader in Me Curriculum . In addition to student learning, all of our schools engage in adult learning by teaching and engaging in learning of the habit of the month during faculty meetings.
