  7 Habits of Highly Effective People
  The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is one of the key frameworks of the Leader in Me process. In addition to helping students learn and apply leadership skills, the 7 Habits give us a common language in building a supportive emotional environment. 

   

  4 Disciplines of Execution
  The 4 Disciplines of Execution is another key framework of the Leader in Me that helps us to identify, track, and achieve academic and personal Wildly Important Goals (WIGs).

  • Attending an upcoming leadership event

  • Sponsoring a schoolwide leadership role or club

  • Supporting one of our service learning projects

Welcome to The Leader in Me Parent’s Guide. This guide is based on the timeless principles found in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The Leader in Me. It shares easy-to-understand ideas and activities, and a reading list to help you teach and model powerful 7 Habits principles to your children at home. 

n the book, The Leader in Me, Dr. Stephen R. Covey outlines one of the seven habits of an effective leader is to, "Begin with the End in Mind." In keeping with that spirit, we have tailored our Vision statement for the Vicksburg Warren School District.

Our Vision is to : Graduate ALL students college, career and life prepared. 

The Vicksburg Warren School District is proud to have one of the first Leader in Me District Implementations in the country. All classes grade Pre-K through 12th grade. We are home to FIVE Lighthouse Schools: Bowmar Avenue, Bovina and Redwood Elementary Schools; Academy of Innovation middle school and River City Early College High School.  

The Leader in Me is Franklin Covey's whole school transformation process. It teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
