Dana Road Elementary held their annual Leadership Day on February 7, 2025. Student greeters welcomed visitors as they entered the front doors of the building. Upon entering the gymnasium, visitors were welcomed with colorful decorations fitting the theme of "Dana's Candyland". The opening ceremony consisted of several activities, including a skit, which were all student-led and focused on the 8 Habits. A farewell presentation was also given to honor of Principal LaShonda Keyes, who will be retiring.
Following the opening ceremony, visitors were ushered through 5 tour stops within the building to see how leadership is displayed in various pods. Student leaders in Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, and Second grades showcased evidence of their leadership through grade level presentations, including songs. Students also showcased their artwork and their Leadership Notebooks.
This annual event is a platform for parents and other community members to see how Franklin Covey's 8 Habits are being implemented at Dana Road Elementary. A special thank you to Dana Road's Lighthouse Teams, faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members for helping to make this an awesome event!
