On December 12, 2024, the city of Vicksburg conducted a ribbon cutting for our new animal shelter. Several Dana Road students (Mila Franklin, Madison Norfort, Benjamin Hardison, and Darius Course) had the pleasure of providing artwork for the facility.
Students donated over 50 pieces of animal artwork including cats, dogs, and turtles. They began working on this project in April 2024, which quickly became a class favorite project. The shelter has framed their artwork throughout the new facility, adding happiness and joy to all who visit. Dana Road students were given a full tour of the shelter and saw the new animal cages, cat rooms, dog rooms, and a private room for prospective pet owners to meet the animals. Students were also able to view their own artwork framed on the walls.
